violent shooting in Brooklyn NY

Back in 2018, the community of Brooklyn was devastated when the life of an innocent teenager, Latrell Brown, was cut short in another instance of gun violence. According to reports, the 16-year-old youngster was walking with his girlfriend around Lewis Avenue and Macon Street around 2 P.M. on July 11, 2018. Latrell Brown reportedly exchanged words with the suspect before the aggressor reportedly took out a handgun.

Then, the unthinkable happened. The culprit pulled the trigger, shooting Latrell in the head and instantly taking his life. Shortly later, the suspect was taken into police custody. Latrell Brown was a well-known and respected member of the community, as he was a senior at Brooklyn Law and Technical High School. He was a popular basketball player for the Brooklyn Ballers and his high school team, too.

Justin Delapara, the 21-year-old accused of fatally shooting Latrell, was recently sentenced to 18 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
